E:60 Four Days With Phil Ivey - ESPN Video

Poker superstar Phil Ivey is the embodiment of recession-proof. Not that I would suggest him to start a rap career, but he sure can back up the exaggerated wealth aspect. Coincidentally, his manager is Chris “Gotti” Lorenzo (Irv Gotti’s brother) but I doubt he’ll be grabbing the mic any time soon. Very low key yet unapologetic about his lifestyle, Ivey gave ESPN’s E:60 a rare glimpse into his life and banking about a million bucks along the way.
Ivey is like “Entourage” but keeps it all business. His ice cold stare would leave you clutching your North Face bubble. Blowing hundreds of thousands of ducketts on a roll of the dice and not giving a shit in the process. That’s a guy I easily admit I’m a Stan of.

RHYTHM RELIEF 10/24

So many of us go through our lives getting so caught up on trivial things that we fail to recognize the struggle and misfortune that afflicts those less fortunate.

On a Saturday afternoon on September 27, 2009, Typhoon Ondoy ravaged through Metro Manila in the Philippines, only taking six hours to pile a month's worth of rainfall onto the land. This accumulation eclipsed the previous record high from flooding in June 1967. Following this unfortunate occurrence, over 26 regions of the Philippines were submerged in water.

The impact left in the wake of the typhoon is undeniable, resulting in hundreds of deaths, injuries, and missing people. Hundreds of thousands of people have been affected by the damage done to their homes and neighborhoods.

Many of us have friends and family that were directly affected by what happened, and even though we are on the other side of the globe from the epicenter of destruction, that does not mean that there's nothing we can do.

For this reason, I invite you all to an event we have put together as quickly and thoroughly as possible. Donation boxes will be set up at various spots throughout the venue, with all proceeds going to Gawad Kalinga's Ondoy Relief & Rehab project.

In addition to donating money we will also be conducting a clothing drive, a collaborative effort with Jose from the Secret Service camp. Any old or unwanted clothing will be graciously accepted the night of the event, so while you are all cleaning out your closets and facilitating the transition to the Autumn/Winter wardrobe, you can take all the unwanted items you no longer need that are taking up valuable closet space and donate them.

For those of you busy or unavailable the night of the 24th but have clothing or any other donation that you would like to contribute, don't hesitate to contact us and we will be glad to pick it up.

Sorry people, this is a 21+ event.

Black Dynamite Screening

Last night was awesome, first time rolling to a red carpet screening with buds and co-workers to check out Black Dynamite. It was fucking hilarious.  Anyway, as much as I'd love to review the movie, I'm not as super bad, outta sight, and Black Dynamite as my jive talking homeslice Judnick!"Possibly the slickest shit talker ever Black Dynamite is definitely a sight to be seen. If you can hear half the movie over the raucous laughs (unless you're sitting next to the stuffiest  geriatric folks in America) then you will most certainly enjoy it. Actually you'll enjoy it even if you only hear half of it. The beauty of Black Dynamite is that does what you're still kind of waiting for SNL to get right: spoof for smart folks. Half the jokes are hidden gems that only dawn on the quick-witted while there's still enough slapstick tomfoolery to keep even the slowest dude amused. (Can you say open hand pimp slaps?!!!) Touching upon every aspect of blaxploitation you could ever imagine needed commentary, this movie is certainly a good time. Michael Jai White does an awesome job as Black Dynamite but also a great job as a writer on the project. If you like bitches, kung fu treachery, fiendish doctors, titties and well...bitches you should head out and see this movie and after all the silly laughter you can go have a beer and pretend to have an intelligent conversation about all the satire and important stereotypes that were touched upon. Although I promise most of that conversation will involve you saying: Chocolate Giddy UUUP!" reviewed by Judnick Mayard

An iPhone app to avoid drunk dialing?

Did you know there's an iPhone app to avoid drunk dialing? I just heard about it during a mobile meeting -- can't exactly recall how the topic of drunk dialing came up, but I thought that app was pretty awesome. So, I went straight to the source, Google search engine! Hah! It's my best friend in the Whole Wide World. There are two apps: 1) The Bad Decision Blocker, and 2) Don’t Dial!, that prevent users from hollering at "someone" for a set amount of time. Dude, where was this app when I needed it years ago?! It's a fucking whole new world out there, and it has me riding magic carpets and shit, wondering how many more apps there are that saves face.
